Popular Nigerian comedian and musician Nasboi is recovering after surviving a serious car accident on Tuesday, sources close to the entertainer confirmed. The crash reportedly occurred while Nasboi was en route to a meeting connected to a potential music collaboration with Afrobeats superstar, Davido.
Eyewitnesses say the incident took place along the Lekki-Epe Expressway, where Nasboi’s vehicle skidded off the road after narrowly avoiding a collision with a commercial bus. Though shaken, the entertainer escaped with minor injuries and was treated at a nearby hospital before being discharged hours later.
“I thank God for life. This could have been the end,” Nasboi posted on his Instagram story, sharing images of the damaged vehicle and expressing gratitude to fans for their support.
The comedian, known for his viral skits and musical alter ego “Low Budget OBO,” has recently ventured more seriously into music. Industry insiders say Nasboi has been actively seeking a collaboration with Davido to bolster his credibility as a recording artist.
“It’s been a dream of his for years,” said a close associate who requested anonymity. “This meeting was a major step forward — possibly the breakthrough he’s been waiting for.”
While neither camp has officially confirmed a collaboration, the incident has drawn widespread attention to Nasboi’s musical aspirations and the risks entertainers sometimes face in pursuit of their goals.
Fans and fellow celebrities have flooded social media with messages of support, praising Nasboi’s resilience and expressing hope for the long-anticipated project with Davido.
As of press time, Nasboi has not provided further details about the meeting or the status of the potential collaboration, but sources indicate he remains determined to move forward with his plans.

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has intercepted 11 vehicles and several containers loaded with suspected smuggled goods during a coordinated anti-smuggling operation in Lagos and surrounding areas.
The operation, carried out by the Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone A, was part of intensified efforts to curb illegal importation and protect the nation’s economy from revenue losses and security threats.
Addressing journalists at a press briefing in Lagos, Acting Controller of FOU Zone A, Deputy Comptroller Hussein Ejibunu, confirmed that the seizures were made following credible intelligence and sustained surveillance.
“Our officers intercepted 11 exotic vehicles and multiple containers suspected to be carrying contraband items ranging from foreign parboiled rice to used clothing and pharmaceuticals, all illegally brought into the country without appropriate documentation or payment of duties,” Ejibunu stated.
He revealed that some of the seized containers were falsely declared, while others lacked valid import permits—violations that are currently under investigation. The estimated duty paid value (DPV) of the seizures is said to run into hundreds of millions of naira.
The Acting Controller warned smugglers to desist from economic sabotage, stressing that the Customs Service is fully equipped and committed to enforcing trade compliance and border security.
“This is a clear message to those involved in smuggling and tax evasion: the Nigeria Customs Service will not relent. We are enhancing intelligence, deploying modern technology, and working in synergy with other security agencies,” he said.
He added that suspects connected to the seizures are currently in custody, and further legal action will be pursued following the conclusion of investigations.
The NCS has in recent months increased surveillance at ports and border points nationwide, as the federal government intensifies its crackdown on illicit trade and its impact on local industries and national revenue.
Key political stakeholders from the Abak Federal Constituency in Akwa Ibom State have pledged their unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Governor Umo Eno, expressing readiness to work toward their re-election in the 2027 general elections.
The declaration was made during a strategic meeting held in Abak, where community leaders, party chieftains, youth representatives, and women’s groups gathered to reaffirm their commitment to the political leadership driving national and state development.
In a communiqué issued after the meeting, the stakeholders praised President Tinubu for his economic reforms and governance agenda, lauded Akpabio’s legislative leadership at the national level, and commended Governor Eno for his grassroots-driven developmental strides across Akwa Ibom.
“We are solidly behind President Tinubu, Senate President Akpabio, and our dear Governor Umo Eno. Their leadership has brought stability and purposeful governance, and we stand ready to support them beyond 2027,” said Hon. Emmanuel Inyang, a former local government chairman and convener of the meeting.
The group emphasized the need for political continuity to sustain ongoing infrastructure, agricultural, and educational projects in the state, noting that recent gains could be jeopardized by a change in leadership.
“We believe in progress through consistency. Our constituency will mobilize massively to ensure these leaders return to office,” said Mrs. Ekaette Sunday, a prominent women’s leader in the area.
The endorsement aligns with recent grassroots mobilization efforts across the state, as political actors begin positioning ahead of the next election cycle. Observers say the early show of loyalty signals growing momentum behind the incumbent administration at both federal and state levels.
Analysts, however, caution that while early endorsements reflect optimism, the true test will come with policy delivery, party unity, and voter engagement in the years ahead.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has reiterated its longstanding policy prohibiting political and sectarian expressions at all Hajj sites, as part of measures to ensure the safety, unity, and spiritual focus of the annual pilgrimage.
In an official statement released by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Saudi authorities emphasized that the pilgrimage must remain solely a religious obligation, free from political slogans, protests, or actions that could spark division or unrest among the millions of Muslims who gather in Mecca each year.
“The Kingdom is committed to providing a peaceful and secure environment for all pilgrims,” the ministry stated. “Any attempt to politicize Hajj or use it as a platform for sectarian agendas will be strictly prohibited and dealt with in accordance with the law.”
The statement comes as the country finalizes preparations for the 2025 Hajj season, which is expected to draw more than 2 million pilgrims from across the globe. Authorities stressed that any violations of the regulations—whether verbal, written, or symbolic—would be swiftly addressed by security personnel deployed at holy sites.
Saudi Arabia’s policy, which has been in place for decades, is aimed at preventing tensions and ensuring that Hajj remains a unifying experience for Muslims of all nationalities, races, and schools of thought.
International Islamic scholars and Hajj delegations from various countries have largely supported the policy, agreeing that the sanctity of the pilgrimage should not be overshadowed by political agendas.
In recent years, regional tensions and geopolitical conflicts have at times threatened to spill into the spiritual event, prompting the Kingdom to increase monitoring and enforcement efforts to maintain order.
Pilgrims have been urged to adhere strictly to the guidelines, focus on their spiritual journey, and respect the diversity of fellow worshippers.
As millions prepare to embark on the sacred rites of Hajj, Saudi Arabia continues to position itself as a guardian of the two Holy Mosques and a neutral facilitator of the Islamic world’s most important religious gathering.

Former Chief of Army Staff and ex-Ambassador to the Republic of Benin, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai (rtd), has called on Nigerians to actively support the Federal Government’s initiatives in combating terrorism and banditry. He emphasized the urgent need for citizens to help counter the spread of extremist propaganda that threatens national unity and security.
Speaking at a security forum in Abuja on Tuesday, Buratai urged Nigerians not only to reject the narratives pushed by terrorists and bandits but also to become ambassadors of truth by promoting accurate information that strengthens peace and national cohesion.
“Terrorists thrive on misinformation and fear. As citizens, we must reject their narratives and support our armed forces and the government in their efforts to restore peace,” Buratai said. “The battle against insecurity is not only fought on the battlefield but also in the minds and hearts of our people.”
Buratai highlighted the significant progress made by the military in degrading terrorist capabilities across the country, but warned that psychological warfare and media manipulation remain tools used by insurgent groups to gain sympathy, recruit followers, and destabilize communities.
He commended the efforts of the current administration under President Bola Tinubu in reinforcing the nation’s security architecture and called for sustained cooperation between the government, the media, and civil society to build public resilience against extremist messaging.
Security analysts at the event echoed Buratai’s remarks, stressing that public awareness, vigilance, and unity are vital components in winning the fight against terrorism and banditry.
The forum also discussed the role of digital media in shaping public opinion and underscored the need for responsible journalism in reporting on conflict-related issues.
Buratai’s comments come amid ongoing military operations in parts of the North-East and North-West aimed at rooting out remnants of Boko Haram, ISWAP, and other criminal elements that continue to pose security challenges.

Ruby Ojiakor, who recently tied the knot in a glamorous traditional ceremony, had earlier shared photos and videos from the wedding, which has since gone viral. Fans were quick to notice Toyin’s absence, prompting speculation online.

In a major political development ahead of future electoral contests, Deputy Senate President Senator Barau Jibrin has received thousands of defectors from the Kwankwasiyya Movement and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) into the All Progressives Congress (APC), signaling a shift in Kano State’s political landscape.
The mass defection took place during a rally held at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano, where jubilant supporters donned APC regalia and pledged their loyalty to the ruling party.
Welcoming the new members, Senator Barau hailed their decision as a patriotic move, describing it as a testament to the growing public confidence in the APC’s vision and leadership.
“This is a homecoming. You have made the right choice by joining a party that is committed to progress, unity, and the genuine development of Nigeria,” Barau said.
He emphasized that the APC remains open to all Nigerians who believe in the principles of democracy, national cohesion, and service to the people.
The defectors, many of whom were previously loyal to former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and the NNPP, cited disenchantment with the party’s internal leadership and lack of clear direction as reasons for their exit.
One of the prominent defectors, Alhaji Musa Ibrahim, a former local government chairman and key Kwankwasiyya figure, said their move to the APC was inspired by Senator Barau’s leadership style and commitment to grassroots development.
“We have seen the difference. Senator Barau represents the kind of inclusive and visionary leadership we want. The APC is not just a party — it is a movement for national progress,” he stated.
Political observers view the defection as a strategic gain for the APC in Kano, a state long seen as a stronghold of the Kwankwasiyya movement. With Kano’s critical voter base, the shift could have broader implications for future elections at both state and federal levels.
Barau assured the new members of full integration into the party structure and promised to continue championing policies that reflect the will of the people.
Former Chief of Army Staff and ex-Ambassador to the Republic of Benin, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai (rtd), has called on Nigerians to intensify their support for the Federal Government’s efforts in combating terrorism and banditry, emphasizing the need to counter the growing influence of extremist propaganda.
Speaking at a public forum on national security in Abuja on Tuesday, Buratai urged citizens to be more discerning about misinformation and to resist narratives that undermine national unity and the morale of security forces.
“Terrorists and bandits are not just waging a physical war. They are also fighting an information war — spreading fear, falsehood, and disinformation to weaken our resolve and divide our society,” Buratai stated.
He stressed that public cooperation is essential for the success of military operations and national security initiatives, noting that information warfare has become a central strategy employed by criminal elements to destabilize the country.
Buratai commended ongoing efforts by the armed forces and security agencies but insisted that success depends largely on a unified and informed civilian front. He encouraged media outlets, community leaders, and influencers to play a more proactive role in promoting truth and supporting national interest.
“We must all stand as one — civil society, the media, and ordinary Nigerians — to ensure that these enemies of the state do not win the battle of perception,” he added.
The retired general’s remarks come amid heightened concerns over the use of social media by terrorist groups to spread extremist ideologies and recruit vulnerable individuals.
Security analysts at the event echoed his sentiments, pointing to successful counter-narrative campaigns in other conflict-prone regions around the world.
Buratai concluded with a call for greater investment in strategic communication and civic education, noting that peace and stability are collective responsibilities that transcend politics and ideology.
