Eccentric Services Ltd, a financial advisory and investment solutions firm, has announced its commitment to bridging the financial literacy gap among Nigerians by providing strategic access to capital market opportunities and wealth management education.
Speaking during a press briefing, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer, James Efe, described the company as a platform designed to help individuals and businesses build sustainable wealth through informed investment decisions.
Efe, a certified stock investment professional with over four years of experience in both Nigerian and United States capital markets, revealed that he is currently undergoing advanced training in Wealth Management at the New York Institute of Finance, Wall Street.
According to him, the inspiration behind Eccentric Services Ltd was shaped by personal business experience and the challenges faced in Nigeria’s economic environment.
“I was running a poultry farm alongside my consulting job, but inflation and rising operational costs made it difficult to sustain profitability. Feed prices kept increasing, and we could not compete with larger producers. After two years, despite generating revenue, we realized we had no real profit due to costs and reduced purchasing power,” he said.
Efe noted that during the same period, his investments in treasury bills and equities recorded significant growth, sparking his interest in financial markets.
“That was when I realized there was a smarter way to grow wealth without being entirely dependent on physical business operations,” he added.
The company offers a range of services including swing trading of fundamentally strong stocks, asset allocation strategies, liquidity planning, stock market training, dividend recovery, share recovery, and brokerage account setup for individuals and corporate clients.
Efe emphasized that one of the biggest challenges in Nigeria’s financial ecosystem is the widespread lack of financial literacy and trust, largely due to past experiences with fraudulent schemes.
“Many Nigerians are intelligent and hardworking but lack the knowledge to leverage financial instruments. As a result, large sums of money remain idle in bank accounts without yielding meaningful returns, while institutions continue to profit from those funds,” he stated.
Since its establishment in 2024, Eccentric Services Ltd has recorded significant milestones, including training over 1,000 investors across Nigeria and the diaspora, managing a community of over 500 active investors, and providing asset allocation strategies for more than 15 high-net-worth individuals and business owners. The firm has also successfully facilitated over 50 dividend claims and share recovery cases.
Efe stressed the importance of proactive financial planning, warning against over-reliance on traditional income sources.
“We cannot afford to be passive about our financial future. Relying solely on salaries or business income is no longer enough. Strategic investment across liquid assets ensures financial security, especially during emergencies,” he said.
He further encouraged Nigerians to embrace modern investment opportunities to avoid repeating the mistakes of previous generations, who often tied up wealth in illiquid assets.
“Investing will cost you, but not investing will cost you more,” he concluded.
Eccentric Services Ltd says it remains committed to helping individuals understand the capital market, diversify their income streams, and build long-term wealth through informed and strategic investment decisions.
