Zenith Bank Plc has announced an interim dividend of N15.70 billion, equivalent to N0.50 per share, to be distributed to shareholders for the first half of 2023.
The announcement was made in the company’s corporate action notice to the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) on Monday.
The Board of Directors of Zenith Bank proposed the payment of an interim dividend of N0.50kobo per ordinary share for the issued capital of 31,396,493,786 Ordinary Shares.
The bank specified that the interim dividends would be disbursed to shareholders whose names are on the Register of Members as of the close of business on September 22, 2023, subject to applicable withholding tax.
Regarding the payment process, shareholders will receive their dividends electronically on September 29th, 2023, provided their names are on the Register of Members as of September 22nd, 2023, and they have completed the e-dividend registration, which mandates the Registrar to deposit their dividends directly into their bank accounts.
Zenith Bank also advised shareholders who have not completed the e-dividend registration to download the Registrar’s E-Dividend Mandate Activation form. Additionally, shareholders with unclaimed dividend warrants and share certificates or those yet to present them for payment or validation are urged to complete the e-dividend registration form or contact the Registrar.
The bank reported a profit before tax of ₦350.36 billion, marking a significant increase of 169.5% compared to ₦130.00 billion recorded in the corresponding period ending June 2022.
Earlier, at its 32nd Annual General Meeting in May 2023, Zenith Bank shareholders unanimously approved a final dividend payment of NGN2.90 per share. This brought the total dividend for the 2022 financial year to NGN3.20 per share, with a total value of NGN100.47 billion.
The bank had previously announced a delay in releasing its 2023 Half-Year (HY) financial results due to post-audit issues. It expects to submit the Audited Half-Year Financial Reports for the period ending June 30, 2023, to the Exchange on or before September 14, 2023.
