Armed with a rich background in engineering and extensive experience in ICT consultancy, Tunji-Ojo has swiftly emerged as a beacon of change within the Ministry.

Under his leadership, the Ministry of Interior, traditionally known for bureaucratic inefficiencies, is witnessing a paradigm shift. One of his first major reforms targets the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), particularly focusing on streamlining the passport issuance process. “I believe government business is everyone’s business,” Tunji-Ojo emphasized during a recent interview, highlighting his commitment to ensuring that Nigerians receive fair and efficient public services. His vision extends beyond mere administrative reforms; he envisions the Ministry playing a pivotal role in national development by strengthening internal security, supporting economic growth through strategic policies, and enhancing public safety measures.

Beyond his immediate goals for the Ministry, Tunji-Ojo has outlined comprehensive plans to revitalize other agencies under his purview, including the Nigerian Correctional Service, Federal Fire Service, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps. His strategies range from capacity building initiatives to job creation programs aimed at harnessing the potential of these agencies to serve the public better.

Reflecting on his approach, Tunji-Ojo expressed optimism about the future: “The legacy for me is simple—ensuring that Nigerians see their rights as non-negotiable. I want to be remembered as someone who protected those rights and instilled renewed hope in governance.”

With his reformist zeal and strategic vision, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo is poised to leave an indelible mark on Nigeria’s Ministry of Interior, paving the way for a more efficient and responsive public sector.
