The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) is gearing up to showcase its remarkable strides in promoting indigenous content within the telecommunications sector during the upcoming Nigerian Telecommunications Indigenous Content Expo (NTICE 2023). Scheduled to take place from August 22 to 24, 2023, at Landmark Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, the event aims to highlight the significant progress made in bolstering local participation and innovation within the telecommunications industry.

Under the theme “Harnessing Indigenous Content for Economic Growth: Networking to Boost Investment,” NCC is rallying stakeholders for an impressive second edition, building on the success of last year’s inaugural event. Coordinated by the NCC’s Nigeria Office for Developing the Indigenous Telecom Sector (NODITS), NTICE 2023 seeks to underscore the effective implementation of the National Policy on the Promotion and Implementation of Indigenous Contents in the Telecommunications Sector (NPPIC).

The Expo is poised to attract a diverse array of participants from various sectors, including indigenous telecom operators, manufacturers, regulators, government agencies, policymakers, innovators, industry leaders, startups, and global experts. These stakeholders will have the platform to showcase their products, services, innovative solutions, and emerging technologies.

The event aligns with the Nigerian Communications Act (NCA) 2003, which empowers the NCC to encourage both local and foreign investments in the Nigerian communications industry. NTICE 2023 will specifically focus on the four key areas outlined in the NPPIC: Manufacturing, Service, People, and Research and Development, fostering innovation in line with the nation’s broader goal of economic diversification.

Registration for participation is mandatory and can be completed via the provided link: The Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the NCC, Prof. Umar Danbatta, emphasized the significance of NTICE as Nigeria’s premier annual event for indigenous telecoms, technology, startups, manufacturing, and innovation. The Expo aims to foster powerful connections, highlight achievements, and underscore the vast potential of a tech-driven digital economy.

NTICE 2023 is anticipated to showcase the government’s strides in advancing indigenous content within the telecommunications sector, providing a pivotal platform for participants to spotlight their products, services, innovations, and technologies. As the telecommunications landscape evolves, this Expo is poised to be a pivotal gathering, promoting collaboration and highlighting the role of indigenous contributions in shaping Nigeria’s digital future.
