Stakeholders in the media industry have urged federal and state governments to capitalize on digital tools as growth strategies for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to thrive in Nigeria.
During an award ceremony organized by Jewel Lifestyle Magazine in Gombe state, Abdulhakeem Idris, the Founder of Jewel Magazine, emphasized the importance of bringing entrepreneurs and farmers together to foster innovation and alleviate poverty, ultimately improving lives in the state. The event marked the launch of Jewel magazine 2023 and featured the presence of dignitaries, including Alhaji Umaru Abubakar, Alh. Ahmed Gara Gombe, and other notable personalities.
The Editor-In-Chief of Jewel Lifestyle Magazine, Abbas Sukola, called on the media industry to engage in insightful discussions on leveraging digital tools for growth, particularly focusing on strategies for SMEs to thrive in Nigeria. He highlighted Gombe State as having the highest number of certified growing tech businesses in Nigeria, aiming for over 1000 tech businesses in the near future.
Additionally, the Ambassador Women Techmakers, Hadiya Usman, stressed the importance of customer feedback for SMEs in the digital era, emphasizing that technology facilitates faster and more informed decision-making. She encouraged youths to focus on personal development, incorporating digital strategies into businesses for optimal results.
Mustapha IU, CEO of Pivea Group, emphasized the need to unite entrepreneurs and farmers for innovation, reducing poverty, and enhancing lives, echoing the achievements seen in the past.
The event combined entertainment with awards, recognizing outstanding achievements in various categories.
