The Lekki Port LFTZ Enterprise Limited, the promoters of the Lekki Deep Sea Port, announced that their collaboration with CMA CGM Shipping Line will greatly enhance Nigeria’s trade volume and boost the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The Managing Director of Lekki Port, Mr. Du Ruogang, made this known during the recent commissioning of the port by President Muhammadu Buhari. He emphasized that Lekki Port will revolutionize maritime activities in Nigeria and the entire West African region, and is set to begin operations by the end of the first quarter of 2023. He added that the port will drive the Nigerian economy, reinforce the country’s status as a regional maritime hub, and enable many related industries to flourish.
He added that the partnership between Lekki Port and CMA CGM Shipping line will not only boost Nigeria’s trade volume but also bring significant economic benefits to the region through increased connectivity and efficiency in the supply chain. The CEO also highlighted that the terminal is equipped with cutting-edge technology and will be able to handle large vessels, making it an attractive option for international shipping lines. The Lekki Port is set to begin operations in the first quarter of 2023.
