Lokoja, Kogi State — Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo has praised the leadership of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) for moving away from divisive politics and fostering unity among political actors in the state.
Ododo made this commendation during a courtesy visit from IPAC members, led by Chairman Ilyas Badanga, at the Government House in Lokoja on Saturday. The governor emphasized his administration’s commitment to collaborating with IPAC to provide effective leadership and shape government policies and programs that benefit the people.
“The era of undermining the state through negative politics should be left behind,” Ododo said. “Political actors should offer constructive evaluations of my administration and present superior policy options that will positively impact the lives of our citizens.”
He urged politicians to unite in promoting the state’s development, aligning with IPAC’s approach of fostering inclusive politics to ensure peace and unity.
In his address, IPAC Chairman Ilyas Badanga expressed gratitude for Ododo’s openness and his administration’s supportive stance towards promoting good governance. Badanga assured that IPAC is ready to engage further with the government to ensure a transparent and fair local government election.
Badanga also commended Ododo for ongoing efforts in infrastructure development and timely payment of workers’ salaries.
Special Adviser on Political Matters, Haddy Ametuo, lauded IPAC for its cooperative approach and reiterated the state government’s dedication to prioritizing the well-being of all citizens, regardless of political affiliation.
