Fidelity Bank Plc has solidified its leadership in the exports sector by securing the prestigious title of “Export Finance Bank of the Year” at the BusinessDay and Other Financial Institutions’ (BAFI) Awards 2023. The accolade was conferred upon the bank during a gala dinner held in Lagos over the weekend.

The BAFI Awards, now in its 10th year, are recognized as the pinnacle of distinction for financial institutions in the Nigerian financial services sector. These awards honor and celebrate organizations that demonstrate excellence in delivering financial services in Nigeria, as stated by BusinessDay Media Limited, the award organizers.

Mrs. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, the MD/CEO of Fidelity Bank Plc, expressed her gratitude for the recognition and dedicated the award to the bank’s valued customers. She emphasized the bank’s unwavering commitment to supporting its customers in the global non-oil exports market, contributing to individual growth, business prosperity, and economic empowerment.

Notably, Fidelity Bank recently hosted the Fidelity International Trade and Creative Connect (FITCC) expo in Houston, Texas, where it signed a significant cocoa pre-export deal with AFREXIM Bank and JohnVents Industries worth $40 million. This landmark achievement has garnered praise from industry analysts.

The FITCC Houston event featured over 160 Nigerian and US-based businesses in exhibitions and engaged stakeholders in discussions on strategies to enhance Nigerian business exports to the US market. Recognizing the bank’s dedication to fostering bilateral trade and economic development between Nigeria and the USA through its FITCC initiative, the Mayor of the City of Houston, Sylvester Turner, declared October 25, 2023, as FITCC Day in Houston, Texas.

Fidelity Bank, distinguished as one of Nigeria’s top banks, offers comprehensive customer-focused services, serving more than eight million customers across 251 business offices in Nigeria and the United Kingdom, in addition to its digital banking channels. The bank has earned numerous local and international accolades, including awards like “Best Payment Solution Provider Nigeria 2023,” “Best SME Bank Nigeria 2022,” “Best Bank for SMEs in Nigeria,” and “Best Domestic Private Bank in Nigeria.”
