The Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum and Governor of Kwara State, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, alongside his Oyo State counterpart and Vice Chairman of the forum, Engineer Seyi Makinde, visited the family of the late Ondo State governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, in Ibadan.

Following the announcement of Akeredolu’s death on Wednesday, Abdulrazaq and Makinde, along with their aides, paid a condolence visit to the deceased governor’s residence in Jericho around 5:30 pm.

During the visit, Abdulrazaq praised the late governor for his commitment and impact on humanity, expressing that Akeredolu’s passing is a significant loss to the nation. The governors met with Akeredolu’s wife, Betty, and other immediate family members, offering condolences and prayers.

Abdulrazaq also extended prayers for the soul of the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Ghali Na’abba, expressing solemnity and calling for divine forgiveness for the departed.

“This is a solemn affair, we are here today with the Governor of Oyo State, and myself on behalf of all the members of the Nigeria Governors Forum to pay a condolence visit to the family of the late Arakunrin Akeredolu. It is a sad affair,” Abdulrazaq stated during the visit.

The Chairman emphasized the late governor’s achievements in both the legal and political realms, describing him as a man who rose to the height of his chosen career and made significant contributions to developmental politics. The governors concluded by extending their prayers for the repose of the souls of Akeredolu and Ghali Na’abba.
