Veteran sports administrator and President/CEO of Provazios Sports Limited, Segun Solanke, has unveiled a comprehensive vision to transform Nigerian sports into a tool for youth empowerment, economic growth and global recognition.
With nearly three decades of experience across sports administration, real estate, town planning, banking and mining, Solanke says he will deploy his extensive contacts and social capital to reform the ecosystem from the grassroots to the professional level.
Solanke is President of Provazios Sports Ltd, owners of Provazios Sports Academy, FC Provazios and Olumo United FC, convener of the T.I.D.E Initiative, and immediate past President of Bikers with Attitude and Determination.
His track record includes administration of inter-club competitions among Nigerian soccer clubs, leadership of charity rides and international tours to promote sports inclusiveness, and facilitation of stakeholders’ participation in global sports tourism events.
At the heart of his agenda is the Sports City project, featuring a modern race track for bikes and cars, designed to drive economic traffic and revenue. His plan also focuses on sports technology inclusion, quarterly youth competitions, process re-engineering, global broadcast of the Nigerian Professional Football League, revival of high school competitions like the Principal’s Cup, and digitalization of athlete management to improve transparency and efficiency.
Describing his philosophy as anchored on collaboration, innovation, impact and excellence, Solanke said, “Sports is more than a game, it is a powerful tool for shaping lives, building communities, and transforming nations.”
He said Provazios Sports Limited remains committed to discovering and nurturing raw talents while promoting excellence, discipline and integrity, with the long-term goal of positioning Nigeria as a hub for sports tourism and talent development in Africa.
