The Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area in Lagos State on Monday presented a N10.1 billion budget for 2026, with 51% earmarked for capital projects, including roads and bridges, and the remainder allocated to recurrent expenditure, security, and social development initiatives.
Executive Chairman Adetola Abubakar described the “Budget of a New Dawn” as a reflection of residents’ priorities, developed through extensive stakeholder engagement and a three-day budget retreat. The budget also includes measures to strengthen internally generated revenue, with new systems to ensure taxes and levies are efficiently collected.
Legislators pledged speedy passage of the budget and committed to ensuring visible progress across sectors such as education, family-focused programmes, and infrastructure, while urging residents to cooperate in fulfilling civic responsibilities.
